Android Game Review - Arena Stars: Battle Heroes

Game Name - Arena Stars: Battle Heroes
Publisher & Developer - Tiny Titan Studios
Platform - PC (Steam), Android, iOS
Genre - Action, MOBA, Multiplayer

Arena Stars tries to be many things, creating a mashup of some popular genres and promising not to take too much time out of its player base as well. While it performs successfully in many regards based on said promises there are some drawbacks holding the game back. But it is a game to be experienced if you have a few minutes in your hand.

'Arena Stars: Battle Heroes' advertises itself as a 90 second MOBA. And that is what 'Tiny Titan Studios' tries to achieve with its latest game. This game is a mixture of 'Clash Royale' style, destroying opponents and his/her base with your troops, has a hero having different abilities like MOBA, adds the element of collecting cards to level up your troops which you use as a deck as well and tries to jam the overall experience within a 90 second PVP match.

The gameplay is fast paced and fun and the different heroes with their abilities does add much to the simplistic PVP matches. And the criteria of three rounds do add another element usually found in fighting games. The matches don't take much time and never boring as you can use different heroes and strategies to out maneuver your opponent.

The graphics are very colorful and the character designs with their unlock-able skins are another fun aspect. Animations of different attacks are smooth and attractive. But the sound system and voice acting definitely could have used a bit of improvement as they become repetitive after a while.

As for the negatives, the freemium aspect of the game rather pushes on the premium side of things with much advertising for shop sells and unlock-able stuff. The opponent sometimes seems a bit like bots, as it seems they always use the same kind of deck and stuff. And the ability to not being able play with all the heroes as F2P seems a bit harsh (I already am playing for almost a month, but was able to only unlock 3 heroes as F2P).

Overall, this is a fun enough game that I would encourage fans of 'Clash Royale' or MOBA to try out. It only takes 90 seconds to finish a game, so why not?

My score - 7.5 out of 10.
